چکیده
This paper presents the status and perspective of operative Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS): Global Positioning System (GPS), developed in United States; ГЛОбальная НАвигационная Спутниковая Система (GLONASS), developed in Russia; GALILEO system, which is under developing by European Union and Chinese COMPASS system. The analysis of results and achievements was provided by the participation of the Center for Geoinformation Technologies and Systems in EUPOS (European POSition determination system) organization, with its application Detection of Underground Utilities using Ground Penetrating Radar and D-GNSS Technology. EUPOS, headquarter in Berlin, brings together countries of Eastern and Central Europe on the project EUPOS INTERREG IIIc, project part-financed by the European Union. Papers are published on the International Symposium on Global Navigation Satellite Systems, Space-Based and Ground-Based Augmentation Systems and Applications, held on 11-14 of November 2008, and 30 of November – 2 of December 2009, in Berlin, under the auspice of EUPOS organization (www.eupos.org).

The Inertial Attitude Augmentation for Ambiguity Resolution in SF/SE-GNSS Attitude Determination
The Unaided Single Frequency/Single Epoch Global Navigation Satellite System (SF/SE GNSS) model is the most challenging scenario for ambiguity resolution in the GNSS attitude determination application. To improve the performance of SF/SE-GNSS ambiguity resolution without excessive cost, the Micro-Electro-Mechanical System Inertial Measurement Unit (MEMS-IMU) is a proper choice for the auxiliary...
متن کاملSoil Moisture & Snow Properties Determination with GNSS in Alpine Environments: Challenges, Status, and Perspectives
Moisture content in the soil and snow in the alpine environment is an important factor, not only for environmentally oriented research, but also for decision making in agriculture and hazard management. Current observation techniques quantifying soil moisture or characterizing a snow pack often require dedicated instrumentation that measures either at point scale or at very large (satellite pix...
متن کاملCharacterizing Rigging Crew Proximity to Hazards on Cable Logging Operations Using GNSS-RF: Effect of GNSS Positioning Error on Worker Safety Status
Logging continues to rank among the most lethal occupations in the United States. Though the hazards associated with fatalities are well-documented and safe distances from hazards is a common theme in safety education, positional relationships between workers and hazards have not been quantified previously. Using GNSS-RF (Global Navigation Satellite System-Radio Frequency) transponders that all...
متن کاملStudy of GNSS Loss of Lock Characteristics under Ionosphere Scintillation with GNSS Data at Weipa (Australia) During Solar Maximum Phase
One of the adverse impacts of scintillation on GNSS signals is the loss of lock status, which can lead to GNSS geometry and visibility reductions that compromise the accuracy and integrity of navigation performance. In this paper the loss of lock based on ionosphere scintillation in this solar maximum phase has been well investigated with respect to both temporal and spatial behaviors, based on...
متن کاملGNSS Receiver Implementation on a DSP: Status, Challenges, and Prospects
A real-time GPS L1 C/A-code software receiver has been implemented on a Digital Signal Processor (DSP). The receiver exploits FFT-based techniques to perform autonomous acquisition down to a threshold of C/N0 = 33 dB-Hz. Efficient correlation algorithms and robust tracking loops enable the receiver to track an equivalent of 43 L1 C/A-code channels in real time with a tracking threshold of 25 dB...
